Rules {MUST READ BEFORE POSTING}

1. NO PORN.
2. Absolutely no GodModding. Any complaints not resolved between the two or more users in the thread will be noticed, and the Admins will decide either to suspend or terminate depending on amount of said problem. Another thing that relates to this, is having Gary-Stus or Mary-Sues. These are characters that are perfect, no flaws, no problems, no magic or fighting can effect them. That sort of thing. Anyone who sees this happening, please Private Message an Admin or Mod and immediate action shall be taken.
3. There is a posting minimum, and that is three sentences. One-liners will not be tolerated.
4. No spamming. Again, this is unacceptable and will result either in suspension or termination depending on the nature of the offence.
5. Threads will be locked for any of the following reasons:
a. Insane amounts of out of character {OoC} posts.
b. The posts do not meet the three sentence minimum.
c. Over-use of offensive language, or material. A TINY amount is ok. No more than two
F-bombs per post. This is Lord of the Rings, not High School. Sorry people.
6. No spoofing. Spoofing is when you create a username that is too similar or a variation
on an existing name in order to confuse others as to whom a person is. Do not create
a username to intentionally mislead others into thinking you are a member of the
LoTRRPG staff or user.
7. No offensive accounts. What is deemed to be offensive includes, but is not limited to
user names containing strong language, sexually related terms or any form of
discriminatory speech. Admins reserve the right to terminate or suspend any account
they deem as offensive. Users banned for this reason must submit a suspension review (or
wait out the time) before possibly being allowed a new account.
8. You CANNOT create more than one account. Three characters per account, but no more than one account. If it is discovered that you have created multiple accounts, all will be deleted. ALL of them. However, an Admin user rank may have up to 5 characters, but still not multiple accounts. If your account has been terminated, and it is discovered that you have created another account, that one will also be terminated.
9. No icons or signatures directed at another user without consent of that user. No flash movie signatures. These are typically too large and also require embedding, which can often cause problems for many members. As a result, no flash signatures are tolerated. No music signatures. This refers to signatures that play songs. Other users should not be subjected to the music of your choice; please keep others in mind. No signature or icon which prompts any type of pop up for any browser. This is self-explanatory; if your signature or avatar requires a password, please be sure to
set it for public viewing.
10. No flaming.
Just be nice, don't be a dickhole.
Don't ever argue with an Administrator.
Don't ever abuse your powers. (Admins)
There will be very little tolerance for "flaming". Arguments and debates are healthy, however, you may not insult the other party. Flaming includes all of the following points:
* Verbally degrading other users
* The use of racist, sexist, or discriminatory remarks at any time (including jokes)
* Harassing other users persistently in any manner
* Harassing other users private messaging
Posts found to contain this content will have their source warned. Users are asked to use the private messaging system (or off site means) to carry on these debates, however if one party feels the other is harassing them without cause administrators will take action against this person. Repeated instances of this on the public forums may result in a suspension or termination of your account. Each case of flaming will be handled individually and at the sole discretion of the moderators and admins.
11. No claiming to have hit someone, (EX: Pain punched the crook in the face.WRONG)
You must say you threw the punch (EX: Pain threw a punch at the crook.RIGHT)
You may not kill some ones Main Character, you may beat them to a near death state, but they can not actually die with out their permission.
12. This site in my eyes is deemed as a "Mature" content site, meaning that pretty much anything can happen here, how ever if things seem a bit graphic to you in that topic, you should put a X at the start of your topics name otherwise it can be locked by an Administrator. For example, if there is a lot of really nasty gore, or it's just sex, put the X there for those who might not wish to see it.
13. Give your posts time and detail, make sure everything is spelt correctly, check your grammar, just make it easier and more interesting for those you are role-playing with.
14. No rip off characters, you can have similar ones, but be original damn it! A person of the Admin user rank may have up to 5 characters.
15. Do NOT beg to become an Admin or Mod. If you are on the site long enough, and we believe that you are responsible enough, we will Private Message you, and ASK you if you wish to become an Admin/Mod. If you choose to become one, and we find you are neglecting/over-abusing your position, your account will be promptly terminated.
16. Cheating, copyright, and plagiarism are all against the "Rules" of this site and can or will be resulted in a warning or suspension. This can also result in the permanent termination of your account. Please, the Admins don't like having to enforce such rules, but if necessary, action will be taken.
17. This site is about, but not limited to, Lord Of The Rings. If you would like the Admin to start a new forum for some other topic, feel free to Private Message and ask for it.
18. Unless you can come up with a really, REALLY good reason why it wasn't mentioned in Canon, your character MAY NOT be the child of a book or movie Canon character that was known to have no children, or all of whose children were named. If your character is royalty for no apparent reason in a place that is known to have a king or ruling force, it will not be approved until that is changed.
19. If you are posting in another category besides Lord of the Rings, you don't need to get your character approved, since it's about something else and the application might not cover some things you need or things might not apply. Edited 3/23/10 by KatyCruel
